Last updated 25 Sep 2026

The Small Farmers’ Agri-business Consortium (SFAC) was constituted in 1999 by the Government of India as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860 (Act XXI of 1860).

Later, the Meghalaya Small Farmers’ Agri-business Consortium (MgSFAC) was constituted as instructed by the Government of India for the implementation of the Government of India’s Centrally Sponsored Scheme named “Technology Mission on Integrated Development of Horticulture in North East” (TMNEH). The scheme was later renamed as “Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States (HMNEH)” / Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH).

MgSFAC was registered on 16 March 2001 under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Act XII of 1983.

MgSFAC channels funds, prepares Annual Action Plans, monitors and evaluates field progress, and facilitates agri-horticultural programmes in the interest of farmers of Meghalaya.
