Role and Functions

MgSFAC acts as an agency to channelise funds, prepare the Annual Action Plan, monitor and carry out field evaluation, and prepare progress reports for schemes under the Horticulture Mission for North East & Himalayan States (HMNEH), a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.

• Preparation of Annual Action Plan and channelising of funds for the National Mission on Micro Irrigation (NMMI).
• Act as the Nodal Agency to channelise funds under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) to the implementing agencies.
• Act as an agency to channelise funds under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme — Support to State Extension Reforms (ATMA).
• Facilitate agri-horticultural programmes for the public interest with regard to establishment of agro-based industries through Central and State agencies.
• Facilitate developmental programmes in the agri-horticultural sector.
